Counselling in Chichester.
Chichester Counselling Services began a counselling service in the 1980s and their subsequently developed training establishment has educated hundreds of qualified psychodynamic counsellors/psychotherapists.
Chichester now educates potential counsellors in two stages.
Stage one: counselling skills (one year one – certificate level) – no clinical work.
Stage two: counselling theory and skills (two years – diploma level) – working psychotherapeutically with real clients.
The training begins September 2010 and candidates are being interviewed now.
The training is accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, assuring students of the quality of this training course.
Benefits of training at Chichester Counselling Services:
- Students are trained within CCS on a weekly basis (30 contact weeks).
- In the second and third years, when clinical practice is required, clients are provided by CCS. You do not need to find a counselling placement.
- Supervision is provided within CCS – you do not need to find your own supervision.
- Training is on a Friday late afternoon/evening.
- The first year is 30 weeks of training on counselling skills and psychodynamic theory.
- After qualification, students can remain practising at CCS for support at a now a familiar counselling establishment.
